I don’t normally just advertise sales on Comic POW!, but the Humble Image Comics Bundle combines a few things that are important to me. First of of all, the Humble Bundle’s pay what you want model mirrors the model I love so much with The Private Eye. Trust your fans and many of them will pay a fair price. Those who pay less will get exposed to you and you’ll make more money that if you hadn’t sold at a discount. Second, Humble sales (usually video games, but comics or books at times) allow the buyer to allocate the money between the authors, a charity, and the Humble Bundle people. It’s up to you how much of your money goes to each entity. And the charity this time is the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. So second part of this sale that is so important to me is getting money to the CBLD. They help out comic creators who are being censored or sued for their content.
So what can you get? The Image Comics press release says it perfectly:
Customers can name their price for Jonathan Hickman and Nick Dragotta’s EAST OF WEST, VOL. 1, Greg Rucka and Michael Lark’s LAZARUS, VOL. 1, Nick Spencer and Joe Eisma’s MORNING GLORIES, VOL. 1, and Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips’ FATALE, VOL. 1. Those who pay more than the average price will also receive Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples’ SAGA, VOL. 1, Tim Seeley and Mike Norton’s REVIVAL, VOL. 1, and John Layman and Rob Guillory’s CHEW, VOL. 1. Paying $15 or more will unlock Robert Kirkman’s THE WALKING DEAD, VOL. 1 and VOL. 20, completing the bundle of nine comic books.
